Tournament book (for free!)
The 27th HZ University of Applied Sciences Chess Tournament has come to an end. Over 240 participants from 15 different countries took part. The week has flown by, the prizes have been awarded, and the hall has been cleared. The Atrium is no longer a tournament venue, but once again a space where, at the end of August, students will be welcomed for the new academic year. The chess players have moved on to their next tournament, or simply back to work as their vacation days have run out. What remains is the memory of a successful tournament for young and old, for amateurs and professionals alike, ending with four players tied at the top — one of whom was allowed to hold the trophy.
We thought it would be nice to make that memory a little more tangible by compiling the reports published on our website before, during, and immediately after the tournament into a single tournament book. The idea came from Matthijs Dijkstra, who has already done the same for several Dutch tournaments on Schaaksite.
The book can be downloaded for free as a PDF. You can find the link at the bottom of this page. Should you feel it is worth a donation, we certainly won’t say no! You can transfer any amount to Stichting Schaak Walcheren, NL56 RABO 0117 0969 62, BIC RABONL2U. The proceeds will go into the savings pot for tournament number 28.
