On the very day before the entry fee was due to increase, we have had to close automatic registration for the Scheldemond Chess Tournament. The reason? We're almost full!

More than a month before the tournament begins, no fewer than 195 players have already made the perfectly understandable decision to register for the sunniest chess tournament in the Netherlands. Spend your days enjoying the sea, the beach, and the beautiful Zeeland countryside, then play chess in the evening: what's not to love?
