Important information for participants

Dear chess friends,

Just a few more days to go until the first Scheldemond Chess Tournament begins. After 27 editions at HZ University of Applied Sciences, the move to Scheldemond College will undoubtedly take some getting used to—not only for the organisers, but for the participants as well.

First of all, the venue has changed, so the address is different from previous years. "Well, obviously," I hear you say—but we all know that chess players are a special breed, and absent-mindedness is not entirely unknown to us! The playing venue is:

By car: Parking is available on the school grounds, just outside the premises, and also at the nearby CSW school.
By bicycle: There is a spacious bicycle parking area at the school.
By public transport: Scheldemond College is approximately a 20-minute walk from Vlissingen Souburg railway station. Please note that there is a bus service between Middelburg Station and Scheldemond College, but buses only run until 8:00 p.m.

No Smoking
Sorry, smokers, but smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Scheldemond College premises, including the outdoor areas.

Registration
All participants must confirm their attendance with the arbiter at Scheldemond College on Saturday, 1 August, between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. If you fail to do so, it is very likely that you will not be paired for the first round.
